Good morning, Breakfast Rotarians!  Jeff Bell and Dale Bender greeted and sold tickets to attendees, then Brenna Ardron led the invocation, followed by Karen Bonanno leading the flag salute.  Song leader Robert Provencio led us in singing This Little Light of Mine while he played the guitar. Lovely!

Per usual, we had no visiting Rotarians, but we had a bunch of guests!
  • Robin Enos (Above & Beyond Award Winner) and her partner David
  • Fran Scott (Dennis’ wife)
  • Susan Guerard (John’s wife)
  • Andrew S. (guest of Frank Wooldridge)
Above & Beyond Award Recipient

Robin Enos, owner of Lashes & Mustaches Salon, was introduced as a worthy recipient of the 2024 Above and Beyond Award.  Robin also teaches hair styling at ROC, and her students have a 100% pass rate on their first attempt at the state test.  She has done so much for women who have lost their hair while receiving cancer treatment.  She provides complimentary wigs and styles them at no cost, and greatly impacts women’s self-esteem and confidence.  She elected to have her $1,000 award go to Links for Life.  Congratulations, Robin!

Paul Harris Fellows

Dennis Scott, Jeff Bell, and John Guerard received their Paul Harris-PLUS recognition pins, plus Dennis received a “Charter Member” badge, while John received a 100% attendance pin.

Student Guests

Donna Schwartz introduced Interact scholarship winners from Golden Valley.  Karina, Steven, and Simnee gave stellar presentations and told us about their education and career plans.

BC Rotaract Club scholarship winners also attended the meeting.  Balpreet, Manuel, Santiago, and Odel told us about their future plans.  Impressive!

Happy Birthday to Jeff Schwartz!

Congratulations to the following members celebrating wedding anniversaries:
  • Duncan & Kendra Harris
  • Darin & Shannon Blunt
  • Jeff & Amy Bell
  • Tory & Jodi Fringer
Happy Club Anniversary to Jackie Alexander, celebrating six years.
Happy Spots
  • Tom Burke was $50 happy for the fact that his son and daughter-in-law have officially purchased a home in Bakersfield, thanks to help from Sandra Parnell (who then committed to making her own $50 contribution).
  • John Guerard celebrated his trip to Scotland and Ireland
  • Jacque Alexander’s grandson Jake continues to show his athletic prowess, recently swimming the 50-yard freestyle in 28 seconds and swimming the 100 Freestyle in 59 seconds.   This week’s contribution was $10.
Lucky Tom Burke won $55 in the drawing, then turned around and paid Sanda’s $50 fine!  That leaves $5 for lunch…don’t spend it all in one place!
