CSUB Basic Needs Program

Dr. Jason Watkins has the pleasure of serving as the Director of Basic Needs and a lecturer in the Department of Psychology. He earned is B.A. in Psychology, M.S. in Counseling, and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. Dr. Watkins is passionate about student success and is committed to ensuring that all students feel a sense of belonging and purpose in their time at CSUB. In addition to his work at CSUB, he is involved with several system and statewide leadership committees related to basic needs. He is involved in the local community as a member of the Blue Zones Bakersfield Food Policy workgroup and serves on the board for the Independent Living Center of Kern County. In his free time, he enjoys camping, traveling, and live music.
