It is so hard to believe that we recently held our last meeting for 2021. And to prove that Christmas miracles do happen, Michael Turnipseed was in attendance. Sandra Parnell recited our beautiful holiday invocation and Harry Bryant led us in our flag salute. New member Robert Provencio was awarded his blue badge.
Program:

In what can only be described as one of our favorite programs, members of the Bakersfield College Chamber Singers, under the direction of Jen Garrett, got us into the holiday spirit. Their beautiful voices sang old standards (O Come, O Come Emmanuel, Carol of the Bells, Frosty the Snowman) and some new favorites. As my Christmas gift to you, I’m including a video for one of the songs they sang. This is a version of That’s Christmas to Me from Pentatonix https://youtu.be/pFjdfjrtf1Q

My second gift to you is NO CLUE in this newsletter! You’re welcome.

As the chorus started into Santa Claus is Coming to Town, jolly St. Nick himself walked in. During the program, we were told the singers are fundraising for their next big tour to Vienna, Prague, and Berlin in May 2023. BBRC gifted the chamber singers $520!
Santa Claus stayed for the meeting and presented a craft talk. He provided some very interesting statistics! He delivers 400,000 tons of toys to 2.1 billion children around the world. He also consumes 374 billion calories from all the treats left.
