Path of a Foster Child
Jim VanderZwan was born and raised on a dairy in the Chino valley, near Ontario CA. He received his undergraduate degree in Sociology from Point Loma Nazarene University in 1994, and his master’s in social work from San Diego State University in 1997. He has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2001.
Jim has spent his entire professional career working with the foster youth of California and has been with Kern Bridges Youth Homes since October 2001.
Over the years Jim has served at the group home clinical director, foster care director, adoptions director. Currently as Executive Vice-President, Jim oversees:
The Supervised Visitation program, The Adoptions program, The Foster Care, Intensive Services Foster Care programs.Plus he’s also responsible for their contracts with the various County offices.
