Dess Perkins started from humble beginnings in the streets of Hawthorne, CA where she attended 59th Street Elementary, then relocated to San Francisco, only to end up resident and raising her family in Bakersfield, CA. She is the proud mother of five children and currently eight grandchildren. Although life threw many obstacles her way, she persevered through determination and a sheer will not to quit. She went on to work for a prominent group home in Bakersfield and then landed a job with the County of Kern for almost eleven years until she decided to give back and become a teacher. She currently holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Child Development; a Master’s in Business and a Master’s in Educational Counseling with a PPS Credential and is currently working on a Master’s in Special Education.
