Golden Empire Gleaners

I have lived in Bakersfield almost all my life and have witnessed the tremendous impact The Golden Empire Gleaners makes in the lives of our community’s most vulnerable citizens.  While the role of Executive Director is new for me, I have spent my professional career working to help businesses be more productive.

I am using my experience and passion for the fulfilment of The Gleaners’ mission to help alleviate hunger in Kern County. 

Our community, in fact the entire world, has undergone unpresented change in the last few years.  I am working closely with an active, energetic, new Board of Directors and our dedicated, long-standing community partners to evolve and expand our donor base to include younger and more diverse supporters.  Hunger doesn’t know age, and fortunately neither does generosity.  The impact our existing volunteer base has made during our nearly 40 years of success cannot be measured.  And now is the time to engage a younger, more ethnically diverse generation to help us to meet the new challenges facing the organization and our community. 

We are closely evaluating and revising our messaging and processes to speak to a next generation of donors, volunteers and leaders who will celebrate the achievement of our mission
