Starting with a packed-house social at Dionysus on Tuesday evening, and continuing with a very successful all-club luncheon at the Crystal Palace on Thursday. The social was extra sweet because our own Dan Johnson was better than ever on the guitar…even after his health “hiccup” the prior week. Thank you, Sandra Parnell, for hosting such a great event (next time, make sure you bring in extra help so you can enjoy the fun, too!). Hopefully by now, you’ve seen the message that this year’s District Training Assembly meetings have been cancelled due to coronavirus concerns. Core classes will be available on-line Saturday. Stay tuned for details.

The following is information from District Governor Elect Deb Linden with respect to the cancellation of the 2020 District Training Assemblies
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
After a great deal of consideration and discussion, and out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to cancel the District Training Assemblies on March 14 and March 21 in light of the risk from the corona virus. Although the risk is low, the virus is particularly dangerous for those who are older with underlying health issues or weakened immune systems. Your health and welfare, and that of your families, is our number one priority and we want to mitigate the risk of exposure and secondary infection as much as possible. This was not a decision we took lightly.
We are, however, moving forward with an alternative plan to offer most of the core classes online:
On Saturday, March 21, 2020, we will be conducting online sessions for the following groups (you will receive more detailed info via email soon):
1. Club Presidents: Time to be determined
2. Presidents Elect (PEs): 9:00 am - 10:30 am
3. Presidents Elect Nominee (PENs): 9:00 am - 10:30 am
4. Club Secretaries: 10:45 am - 12:15 pm
5. Treasurers: 10:45 am - 12:15 pm
Online sessions for the club avenue of service directors (club, community, international, youth, and vocational) and club membership directors will be scheduled in the near future. More info and schedule will follow soon.
I appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we all navigate this ever-evolving situation. Absent a crystal ball to see into the future, we need to make the best decisions we can and err on the side of the health and safety of our members.
