What a beautiful morning for a Rotary meeting!
Erick Bautista and Bill Potter graciously greeted us. Stephanie Baker pulled the trifecta as she was acting Secretary and presented our invocation and flag salute. Bill Black led us in a finger-snapping rendition of “Sixteen Tons.”
President Karen is getting quicker and quicker with her fines. Holly Kuntz was fined $20 for having a guest attend while not in attendance herself. Brittnee, we hope you enjoyed the morning.
Presentation
Kiyoshi Tomono, Executive Director of Blue Zones Project, was our speaker. Blue Zones Project is a well-being initiative powered by Adventist Health, California Resources Corporation, and the City of Bakersfield. The project is patterned in the world where people live to old age but thrive.
He shared the Power Nine and Life Radius principles to live a longer life with us. (see pictures)

Community Activities/Volunteerism - Purpose Workshop, Cooking Class (there is a special segment every Wednesday morning on Channel 17), Volunteer Events, Moai (walks), and Walking School Bus.
Join a Committee - Community Policy, Schools, Worksites, Restaurants & Grocery Stores, and Community Engagement
Blue Zones Project had its kickoff event on April 29. It is a five-year funded project with a team of 14 working in three buckets:
People - Activating people to improve their well-being.
Places - Engaging places to make healthy choices easier.
Policy - Implementing a policy that transforms the environment.
