Denise Haynes, David Perkins, and Ken Quarnberg were some chipper greeters on this last meeting date of November.  Denise then gave the invocation, and Jeff Haynes led the flag salute.

 

As an exceptional treat, we enjoyed a performance of the Star-Spangled Banner by Mixed Company, a barbershop-style quartet featuring our own Fred Walkover and his wife Ida.  It's such a great way to start the day!

 

We had no visiting Rotarians, but the guests keep on coming!  Frank Wooldridge brought Scott Tangeman, DDS (good job, Frank, on that whole toothbrushing thing!), and new member Brandon Phipps brought Matt Allison for a second visit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The club warmly welcomed Jennifer Henry, who heads up the only breast cancer non-profit organization in Kern County.  Links for Life provides many services to women in Kern County, where 400 women per year are diagnosed with breast cancer (and men can get it, too, by the way!).  The organization has helped some 800,000 people through education outreach and personalized assistance, and they also provide wigs, bras, and prosthetics.  Thank you, Jennifer, for your impactful work!

 

Stephanie Baker announced that she will celebrate 27 years of cancer-free next week!  In honor of the milestone, Stephanie donated $135 ($5 per year)! 

 

 

How lucky are we to have yet another new member joins BBRC!  Welcome, Troy Fringer of Jim Burke Ford.  Past President Dave Spalinger sponsors Troy.  Such a great addition to the club!

 

 

Club Anniversary:  Ron Nelms is celebrating 12 years as a Rotarian!  (And he donated $12 in honor of the anniversary.)

 

Wedding Anniversary:  Will and Janet Duerksen are celebrating!

 

Continuing to send Get Well wishes to Maria Theresa as she recovers from surgery.

 

Thanks to all who made fast work of putting together 40 Thanksgiving baskets for families of the Boys & Girls Club!

 

 

Committee Chair Denise Haynes reported on Wine Place & Show's results and thanked her 14-member committee with adorable Christmas trees made of wine corks.  So very appropriate.

 

Net Income for the event was approximately $25,000 (which will be available for service projects next Rotary Year).  Well done, team, and thank you for your hard work!
